With a heritage front facade and a new contemporary addition to this Ivanhoe home, this family garden had some key requirements. The biggest consideration was that the garden was to be low maintenance and have a seamless transition between the front and back gardens.
The back garden is focused on function with the inclusion of a swimming pool, an open lawn for play, easy access to the rear garage, with plants that could soften the structures and provide visual interest through foliage textures and seasonal colour changes.
The front garden needed to connect visitors from front footpath to the front door, which was tucked around the corner of the verandah. The path leads people through the space, and the use of steppers break up the path and open up to the grand front lawn surrounded by beautiful planting.
